The Taisho era was one of Japan’s era names, a brief yet brilliant period in history. This project employs pixel art to creatively fuse Taisho-era romance with contemporary pixel aesthetics. By reconstructing Taisho-era architecture, figures, and floral patterns through pixel grids, it transforms nostalgic romance into whimsical pixel art imbued with retro charm.
The poster, themed “Taisho: Like a Dream”, captures that fleeting yet dazzlingly romantic era. The visuals aim to evoke the distinctive spirit of freedom, artistic atmosphere, and the charm of East-meets-West fusion characteristic of the Taisho period.
Reinterpreting the fleeting yet resplendent romance of the Taisho era through contemporary design language, allowing the ‘dreamlike aesthetic’ to blossom anew in the form of products.
